Whilst learning about Typography I was tasked with the challenge to fill up a whole notebook with hand drawn typography. I was given the duration of a whole semester to complete this and I managed to successfully block out time to draw with all the other assignments I was given to complete.
I would find myself looking forward to the free time to draw out the alphabet in unique ways. At one point I had a long layover and found myself drawing type during my whole stay in the airport as well as the entirety of my flight.
I would find inspiration from the professionals, then go off on my own using different styles, colors, and materials. I enjoyed doing this assignment so much that I incorporated hand drawn type into one of my major projects. I enjoyed a good challenge and found a new love for calligraphy Filling another type notebook is certainly in my future.
