Another UX/UI major project I worked on was to brainstorm a random, yet creative event site that doesn’t already exist. After much thought and getting inspiration from articles and podcasts, I came up with the Murder Mystery Tea Party. It’s a fictional event where guests meet at the Lauracarol Mansion to promenade and see the sites at first, but then crack the code of who killed who over a fancy dinner. 

Adobe XD was my tool for this project and I had lots of fun designing and then prototyping to see how the links and buttons work from page to page. I mapped out what the day would look like for the guests on one page, told the story on another, and of course included the ticket pricing. This project had many creative freedoms and it was easy to indulge in this project. 

After experiencing more in UX/UI based courses, I felt excited to get more advanced and a great outlet for that is Adobe XD. I would be working with software tailored to web design creatives. The task at hand was to create a longform site page. Rather than a whole site it was a single page that would be scrollable. I had to choose an article to use throughout the page and I chose Accessibility and Usability in Communication Design, By Thomas Bohm. 

I appreciated the awareness this article brought to my attention. A lot of designers who don’t have certain disabilities can leave out certain aspects to make an interface accessible for those who do. I am grateful that I live a life without the hardships a disability can bring, but I will do my best in my career to design inclusive pieces for all to use. 

After creating a webpage for the longform, I then transferred the work from web to mobile which was harder than I pictured. Was a great learning lesson to see how it differs on various platforms.
