In July 2022 I started a position as a front desk agent at the Whaler’s Inn in downtown Mystic, CT. Since I’ve started they have given me plenty of opportunities to use my graphic design skills.
I began with some small projects around the lobby. I remade a price sheet for a local business we promote and sell their products in our retail section. I also created some signs for guests who use the lobby bathroom since too many people were throwing away our hand towels.
I made 3 different versions for the first sign. The blue one became the winner since it matched best with the wallpaper of the bathroom and was easiest to read in the lighting.
I enjoyed playing around with different styles for the price sheet. I wanted to add an eye-catching 3D element to bring consumers to read the info.
I was tasked to create a sign for our Main Inn during construction.
Special Occasion Notes
I was honored with the task of creating the special occasion notes for our incoming guest whom were celebrating an event. This includes: birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, honeymoons, baby moons, elopements, and our special packages we sell.
I love making fun notes for people to see when they first enter their room alongside champagne, wine, chocolate, or other treats. I love knowing people are surprised and get to keep the notes to remember how special their time was at the Whaler’s Inn.
